On the Sixth Day of Christmas

my true love gave to me six Geese a laying at the lake house . . .
five Golden Rings
four Calling Birds
three French Hens
two Turtle Dove
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Hi All . .

Yes the "lake house" and what popped in my head first and foremost was the move "The Lake House."  Now this little romantic comedy, not one of Keanu Reeves or Sandra Bullock's best, but I watch it simple for my love of Keanu, I love him completely.  I mean look at this guy ..

Then after watching it I feel in love the "the house."  Out in the middle of nowhere, on a lake, all glass . .  very cool.

So my inspiration for this post, "lake style."  My thoughts on that at the moment, as with any home on a lake, the beach, the mountains . . . go with the neutrals and let the view shine !   Creams, grays, browns, tans, touch of black or silver blues.  A little distressed, a little french inspired.

My hat goes off to Tracery Interiors (www.traceryinteriors.com) for their design of this lake house on Lake Martin, outside Birmingham Alabama.  Filled with galvanized metal, rustic wood beams, and French Antiques, with a color palate to die for !

The "look" above can be used in numerous ways, a nursery perhaps.  Nothing sweeter and calmer than this.

A few years back, we worked with Joy and Michael Palermo on their home in Eastover, here in Charlotte. They have an amazing home, with a look that encapsulates this style of design.  We helped with the kid's rooms and kid's den.  This coming year the Charlotte Mint Museum's Room to Bloom Event (coming in May with guest speaker Celerie Kemble) will include a MerriMINT party at Joy and Michael's, so stay tuned for future pictures !)  We, at Lucy and Company, are one of the sponsors of the event . . so mark your calendars, it's a great time !

Last but not least, a newly completed job on the lake here in Charlotte.  We used the neutral tones with a rustic cabin charm . .  all items featured available at www.lucyandcompany.com

Take a look at the great room.

A custom sofa, down wrapped with great nail head detail.

A custom iron chandelier, beautiful through the large windows.

A custom curved bench and round wood table . .  check out the tree stump!

and take a look at the view of the lake from the Master

Calm and peaceful, with organic feel.

Enjoy
