Dear Diary . . . {Chapter Three}

After soaking up the Adler sun yesterday, Ashley and I wandered the other zillion some-odd aisles at the Contemporary Show and decided Wall Paper was the name of the game this year . . . I am a huge fan of unique all paper !  With every turn we came across something amazing.

Take a look at what caught my eye first . .

This is Flat Vernacular Wall Papers
and the pattern is "Full Bloom."  It's hand printed using Silver and/or Gold Mylar paper, it's impossible to photography to truly see all the eye catching shimmer and reflection, but trust me it's amazing !

A new debut to the May show and shown here in all it's yumminess !!!

I am in love with their unique creativity . . . take a look at this pattern . . . look closely

Brian Kaspr and fiancĂ© Payton Cosell Turner's brain child . . . their amazing papers were featured in the last September's  issue of Elle Decor (remember this !!!) Yes . .  all stickers.

How fun is that !
Brooklyn based design company who clearly takes great time and care with each creation !

Next stop . . . Ella Doran
Based in the UK, former winner of The British Design Awards and featured in the French Elle Decor.  Had the pleasure of meeting textile designer Ella Doran (that's her behind her pillow!).  Love, love the "Stacks and Stripes" wall paper.  Line your family room with stripes - but even cooler that those stripes are album covers !  Paper is digitally printed for the vinyl lovers !
Other products in her line up include cushions, mugs, paper products, place mats and coasters, umbrellas and the coolest roller shades and window panels

This pattern is called "Geo" (and was with winner of the Grand Design Award)

and another favorite "Bugs and Butterflies"

We kept going and came across another UK Exhibitor Tracey Kendal Wall Paper. With her impressive client list including, Anthropologie, the Four Seasons, Kelly Hoppen, Neimans, the Rug Company and Soho House, Tracey has won the ICFF Editors Award in 02 and 09 and Best "On Trend" Product in 2010.

Take a look at my favorite - I actually did a  double take . . .

Isn't it the coolest !

Love the big flatware . . .

Words . .

Simple and organic . .

 And wow . . .

Truly outside the box.

Aimee Wilder
Native New Yorker, Aimee was busy in her booth chatting, sampling and being genuine.  I loved her laid back and fun approach to design.  With childhood exposure to the fashion and textiles industries she developed a foundation at an early age.  Working as a freehand graphic designer after school and later as an in-house designer for firms including Dwell and Martha Stewart Living, her style is clean and well developed.  She brands herself well and her designs are very recognizable with the name !  She draws inspiration from contemporary graphic art and influenced by typography, logo design, rock poster art and urban toy design . . .

Love the subtle colors, but strong patterns !

Fabric by the yard is also available !!!

Rollout Design x MFG Co.
This Toronto based studio juggles Branding, Art Installations and Graphic Design
Rollout projects are often bold and graphic in nature.  I fell in love with the NYC street map paper (wonder why)

Co-Founders Anita Modha, and Jonathan Nodrick

While checking out their site, I can across these other great papers I love !

Love these patterns and check out the close up - pretty cool

Yeah, got a little wall paper carried away. . . couldn't help it

Stay tuned for other Show gems !  Putting the Diary away for the day . . . but like a good book (or tons and tons of NYC pictures) . .  I can't wait to pick back up tomorrow.  Night.

Dear Diary . . {Chapter Two}

It's Sunday morning, Day Two, the 19th . . . most amazing weather, clear, bright and cool.  We left our digs on Riverside  and headed to the Javits Center for the Contemporary Furniture Show.  Always in May, always full of the new and amazing finds. Sensory overload, maybe.

While I want to show off all the wonderful finds I came across, and I will. .
I do want to focus one in particular for this "chapter."

We all love Jonathan Adler.  Who doesn't !  His sense of color, pattern, whimsy... right up my alley.  He's also "real" and quite approachable !

Love seeing his new introductions at the show . .
Check out two that caught my eye..
The wall divider and coffee table, as well as this great sofa (can you see the center curve... more like angle, love that!)

Be happy to source for you at www.lucyandcompany.com

But the main attraction at this show was his new introduction and collaboration with Kohler
If the space didn't catch your eye, the sinks did !

as did the ode to Breakfast at Tiffany's . . .

The collection made it's debut at this show and it explores the impact of color amidst the clean of all white.  For kitchens and baths where "safe" usually rules.  Adler aims for striking, and that it is !

His new color palette includes six different styles and four punch colors, all made from Kohler's signature cast iron material.

Mr. Adler was excited to show off his new line and oh so gracious and personable !
Offering up sink color cotton candy was a "sweet" ending touch !!!

After the end of the show we detoured over to his store on the West Side, to see up close and personal some things we have pulled for our clients . . .

304 Columbus Avenue
New York, NY  10023

Using these great dragon lamps in a dining room, and union jack pillow in an upcoming den . . .

Take a look at some of my other favorites . . .

So nice meeting you Mr. Adler . . .

Your style I will always love and your sense of whimsy always brightens my day !

If only I could live in Malibu Barbie's Dream House . . .

Stay tuned for more great Show finds . . .
