Hey There . . .
Is this your daughter's room? It was the room of Sarah Watson, until yesterday. A room that is similar to a lot of young girls I come across who, as little girls, wanted cute, sweet, with a little frill. She's a tweener now and more of a tomboy than a girly-girl. Mom, daughter and I got together and decided to do a little updating. Lucky for the Watson's I was re-modeling the store and there were bargains to be had!
Take a look at where we started . .
Sarah wanted blue and she loved this paper (upside down and all !) She saw it on our website from that great job I installed in Florida. Aiming to please, she got her paper and the rest, I used my imagination on. They were awesome to let me run with it.
I found a cute Urban Outfitter's coverlet that combined the blues with a pop of kelly green (one of my all time favorites). They are a great resource for teenage duvet covers that aren't budget blowers and easy to care for.
Happened upon, and snagged in the nick of time from Slate Interiors, this great kelly green bedside table (sorry Jody!) It was the perfect size and color to go between a set of twin beds.
We filtered in an oversized lamp, a piece of Sarah's art . .
. . a few new graphic on graphic pillows . . .
. . . a fun push pin board . . .
. . . a sleek glass top desk with chrome sawhorse legs (a white file cabinet for the "not so pretty" stuff we put to the side). . .
. . . new headboards . . .
. . . and yes you can mix busy fabrics . . .
. . . one more look at a great find . . .
. . . and voila, a bright, clean and crisp room, which seems bigger. Love it !
It was quick, fun and a fresh look for Sarah! Thanks to Mekenzie for capturing these great images !
