Bring on the Mint . . . It's Sweeeet.

Hi All . . .

Mint Green.  I have always loved this color, but for a while now I have been drawn to it so much more.  I predict it will be next year's Pantone Color of the year... well probably not.. but it's coming.  I have started mixing it in here and there, in my office, on a job or two.  Who's ready for a room full?  Take a look at just how yummy it can be, and with Spring so close it's pulling me out of the winter blues!

Fresh, light, striking and can be mixed with a lot of unexpected color combinations.  Take another look at Mint in fabrics, fashions, paint and wall papers!  And give us a call if you see something you can't live without . . .

15 Years of Beauty . . .

Hey there . . .

This past weekend Keith, the girls and I, headed out on a Date Night.  We have never been to The Melting Pot, here in Charlotte and wanted to see what it was all about.  The interactive dinner was something Kate couldn't get enough of.  What kid wouldn't love dipping marshmallows in warm chocolate !  But the big event of the night was going by Hidell Brooks Gallery for their 15th Anniversary Party.  Having recently expanded, I couldn't wait to see the finished product.  Gorgeous.  Rebecca and Katherine outdid themselves creating a space not only flooded with light and designed to meander, it was filled with amazing pieces.  Need art?  Head over - you won't be disappointed.

Great party ladies !

For the Collector . . . Hurry Hurry !

Hi  . . .

I would say everyone collects something.  I have a love of coffee table books, so when I wandered into Taschen's space at the NY Gift show last fall, I stopped dead.    They were introducing a limited collection entitled Fashion Designer's A to Z.  It is available as a series of six Designer Editions.  Each edition (a total of 11,000 copies) is bound in a fabric created by one of six designers - Akris, Etro, Stella McCartney, Missoni, Prada and Diane von Furstenberg all housed in a Plexiglas box.  The actual fabric chosen for your copy is a surprise!  For the Prada issue four classic prints from previous collections and re-printed.  Prints including "bananas," "hearts," " the abstract geometric "diamonds," and a floral reissued for Prada from the 1960 Holliday & Brown archives.

Molly received hers last week - the now SOLD OUT Prada cover.   (It took me a minute too... but all contents are the same .. you would be ordering a specific designer's cover).

Inside is a century's worth of fashion greats from the permanent collection of The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology and celebrated in this limited-edition volume.  Photographs of over 500 garments and texts by the curators explain why each designer is important in fashion history.  I have ordered the Missoni cover and cannot wait !

Here's a sneak peak . . .

Copies are limited . .
. . . I am waiting for mine . . . chose the Missoni

The Prada cover sold out so quickly, so - give us a call asap or email "info@lucyandcompany.com" to order your copy !!!

The Fabulous Irish Born . . Orla Kiely . . .

Hey There . . .

Went a little Spring shopping last week . . so ready for the warm weather to stick around.  With Spring comes the new introductions in the furniture and fabric world.  I was visited by a few of my reps last week and happy to say, some of the new patterns in fabrics and wall coverings are yum . . .

But while I am working on a nice, big fat post on the new goodies, wanted to give you a look at Orla Kiely.  I have loved her fabrics and wall papers since introduced just this past fall.  I checked out her site to see her new Spring clothing line.  It is pretty, fresh and gorgeous.

Thought I'd mix a few images of the new collection with a few of my favorite fabrics and papers . . .
All available at Lucy and Company.  Call and come take a look in person!

Bring on Spring.
