Spring is here ! I love seeing the daffodils come up. There's nothing like freshening up your living space to get you in the mood for this time of year. I wrapped up my day today with adding the finishing touches to Carol Burgess' living room. She's a breath of Spring in and of herself - such fun to work with and so genuine. She came to me wanting help pulling together her main family room. It's a large room that flows into the kitchen and breakfast room, so we needed to tie it all together. Her leather sofa and large .. gorgeous painting were keepers, and I liked them... we wanted to update the rest.
Take a look at a few ideas I came up with to pull it together . .
I suggested adding a bold pattern on two new chairs with different arm styles from the sofa for a more eclectic look. I then mixed in more navy, as well as a trim, a little graphic and a dose of chevron.
All these layers were just what this room needed to bring it new life. Take a look at the finished product. We added two amazing lamps, chairs, a new round ottoman with a great trim detail, window treatments and a handful of accessories.
We decided to add a little more navy in the way of grass cloth to the back of her built ins at the last minute. That added just the depth it needed, and I found the most amazing art with just that additional pop of color.
Just looks so pulled together now.
