Hey There . . .
Just before we left for Florida, and in the midst of packing, collecting and organizing all of Lindsay Heitman's things, we also installed Jill Pleune's living room, because I just couldn't wait. I was so anxious to see it come together with it's fun and unexpected elements. Jill was a dream, giving me carte blanche on the design. As co-owner of Sloan here in Charlotte, she so full of style herself, I wanted her space to have a Palm Beach kind vibe and reflect her personality.
Jill loves all things white, so with the new white walls, sofas, rug and chaise, I pumped it up with teal, black & white and yellow for the contrast. Using a combination of new and old I mixed in a few unique finds from Slate Interiors to give the space a real eclectic feel. I wanted vintage mixed with new so the room looked "collected."
The space is big and long, it really needed dividing into two "zones." A double lounge with one side focused on the fireplace and TV and the other facing the back pool area.
With a completely blank slate, take a look at what I proposed.
My favorite element was the faux boxwood side walls we created. Opposite each other on the pool side, these walls, brought the outside in, added dramatic color and texture are quite the focal and conversation element. Mekenzie and I returned today, I added a few details and we shot the space . . .
I am in love !

At the same time I was planning the living space, I also started the dining area. With cream walls filling the house, I wanted this room to stand alone and have a strong look. I fell in love with this paper, it was a must have . . .
So stay tuned for the dining room reveal !
Thanks Jill for your trust and enthusiasm !
