Install of the Day !

Hi There !

Megan Orell, owner of  Scout & Molly's has built a new house and it's gorgeous.  It was new build for Megan and Lance and I am sure they see it as - totally worth the wait!   Located in  Plaza Midwood, this two story home, with it's open floor plan, tall ceilings and modern, sleek design has so many great features.  Comfortable and easy was my first impression when I walked inside.  The tall windows, crisp white walls and the most amazing fully retractable pocket door to the back porch are just a few of the great design choices these two made.    It wasn't hard helping Megan, she has such an eye for design.  She chose many of the new pieces, rugs and lighting, I just helped with a few additional pieces and fabrics to pull it all together.

Take a look.

Working off her existing pillows and a few wood tone pieces, we decided to add fully functional, large scale banana leaf windows for the late afternoon sun.  My thanks to Amy for the gorgeous sewing and installation of the perfect sleek traverse rod.

We chose a new dining table and chairs, recovering the backs with a new fabric and nail heads for a little more pattern and interest.

New ottomans in a soft velvet with the look of hand painting finished off the sitting area.

If this space isn't perfect for a large gathering, I don't know what is.

A new white leather, mid-century occasional chair.

Loving the modern, mix with chic, bohemian vibe - all Megan.

Extra large island with counter stools and pendants, clean and simple.

We pulled the additional fabrics to complement her existing rugs to add a little more punch.

Could not wait for this install, I have been looking at these boards on my big wall knowing just how exited she was and myself as well !

The master has a few more tweaks, stay tuned.

Thanks Megan!  Such an easy and fun project.....

  1. I love this room. If you were to put another arm chair in the room, what color would you go with? I am trying to work with a similar color scheme but need a 2nd chair. Would yellow work?
