Leather Love Continues !

Hey.

I can't seem to get away from wanting leather these days . . . What I love is the toughness of it, the look it has over time, the more worn it is the better.  We have a large bottle green chesterfield sofa in our family room and with 2 dogs, 2 kids and husband it gets a ton of use... clean up of spilt anything is a breeze!!

Take a look at a few pieces from different vendors I have used and gotten rave reviews over.

Our Belle Meade Signature showroom piece came in the other day and it's the most comfortable thing - perfect, simple.  Good for just about any spot !

Loving leather !

Spotlight: Rebecca Atwood

Hi There !

It could not be any colder, cloudier, and drizzlier than it was the other day in Charlotte.  I had big plans to work at the office on tax stuff, but honestly I just couldn't do it.  Tomorrow's another day (Scarlett).  I needed to be creative on my big, green sofa with my kids around.  I am working on several new projects and looking for all the great accessories. One of which, the perfect textile.  One of my favorite artists is Rebecca Atwood.  We incorporated a pair of her grey marble pillows in our latest install (here).  They were perfect.  Rebecca has a beautiful line.  Thought I'd elaborate a bit . . .

Her patterns and fluidness are what I love, as well as her choice of color combinations.  Hand painted looking and original.  I came across her originally at one of the New York shows and have been following her ever since.

Brooklyn based artist, "believes in the process of making."  The artistic process is what drives her and it's evident.  Simple and luxurious that is for sure.  I read she grew up on Cape Cod and drew some of her inspiration from the ocean.  Now living in Brooklyn she continues to find inspiration in her surroundings from everyday observations.  With a degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, she began her career at Anthropologie - that's cool !  Working with major retailers today, she's a trend setter for sure.

From paper to textiles, the translation is there and each piece is a work of art.  Take at a few of my favorite pillows - surely to make that sofa or chair something that much more special.

These are the beauties we used in the Edgerton Master Bedroom install (here).

What about art?  Framed in white or black, these can be yours as well.

Install of the Day . . . Part Two.

Hey There.

This master bedroom is the dreamiest space ever.  Installing this space finished our Phase One at Lindsay and Brandon Edgerton's.  A bed on a frame just wouldn't do.  While Maggie was creating a downstairs look she also continued the color plan upstairs.  Lindsay loves crisp, clean and white, but to add the slightest of contrast Maggie added touches of sky blue and lavender for this calm retreat.

Take a look at the finished product !

Thank you Louise at Stark for this gorgeous rug, so soft and subtle.  Found these chairs at Cotswold Marketplace - the perfect blue, paired with ombre velvet pillows, a lucky Slate find.  I love my local shops, we always find what we need.    We love the hunt when it comes close to install time.   There are always pieces we want to find to finish the look.  Our clients really love the full, finished product and pulling in all the little details for us, is the funnest part - next to presenting the plan.

Could you not hide out in this nook ?

Maggie found this gorgeous art piece by Laura Park at Cotswold Marketplace - the perfect touch.  I offered up my covered coffee table.  I have been refusing to let it go because I love it so much, but for Lindsay, and this space, I gladly did.  We love her . . .

Simple, clean and really pulled together.  We all love it !

I found this lavender ombre pillow at Slate as well - a gift for such a great client !  Also came across these beautiful grey marble pillows from my friends at Isabella.  Perfect.

Dreamy is really the perfect word for this space !

I want to take a moment to brag on my amazing team.  I found Maggie just a little over a year ago and I cannot get over how much she is coming into her own.  She has an amazing work ethic and sense of style.  I trust her eye and level of taste.  With each plan she works on I see how much she is growing in knowledge and detail.  She helps give me the luxury of a little more time which I have been wanting for years and years !!!!   She has become such a great friend and our trips to find new and inspiring design offerings are memorable.    She will be one to watch !  Mekenzie's photos also continue to amaze me.  She captures the real look and feel of our spaces and I so appreciate "how she makes us look !"  I also don't want to forget Bree.  Oh man, orchestrator extraordinaire!  I cannot image ever again, pulling off all the details that woman handles !!!  Ladies, thank you - thank you.  You are giving me more time with my family as well as brining such great, new ideas to the table.   I so appreciate it.

As for you Lindsay - dream client !!!
