Hey There . . .
Welcome back to Bald Head Island and a logistic crazed, yet accomplished install ! I was a little stressed about this one. Everything, I mean every little thing, needed to be on the truck to make the barge. There are no cars allowed on this little piece of heaven.
Amy Jacobsen gave me a call when she saw a post on Facebook for several pieces in our showroom I put on sale. With all my new pieces coming in, it was time to sell off all my navy and kelly green goods, it was a win win for both of us. She purchased a set of chairs and a bench with one of my favorite Designers Guild fabrics covering them. This fabric would dictate the color scheme of their new beach place at Bald Head. We wandered the showroom picking out other pieces then had a sit down to filter in the other things this home would need. I loved seeing our showroom fill her new Bald Head home ! With an entire new paint job it became a fresh and bright space full of "vacation calm"
Bree gets ALL the credit for pulling off the logistics of this install. She was on it and completely pulled it off. She even drove to Hickory the morning of to pick up a dresser that went MIA at the last minute. I can always count on her to take care of it all. So off to Southport we went, myself, Bree, Maggie and Mekenzie to catch a 7 am ferry.
Take a look.
The main living space is on the second floor with two sitting areas, an open landing, which we turned into the dining area and a kitchen. Looking over the marsh with walls of windows, we kept the furniture low not to block.
I have always loved this chair, but knew it would be perfect in their space.
This dining table extends out to seat 10, perfect for this family with a zillion siblings!
Ordered a few new ceramic stoops, always great at the beach and can be moved around inside and out.
Sleek and simple bar cart which can also go from inside to deck - love the color.
This is the fabric I pulled from. Covering the dining table bench we sold off the showroom floor, I added more just in the corner for a big splash of color. I have replaced our showroom leather sofa with a new one, so this piece was a big score ! Added new lamps, coffee table, sideboard and pillows in this corner.
With another sitting area nearby we added a second sofa and simple desk (just in case you want to open that lap top.. yuck!)
Love this inexpensive, mid-century style sofa we popped in.
Had to have Keith do a piece of art for us. A touch of black always seems to anchor things.
There are four bedrooms in this home. We neutralized all the crazy colors (each room was a different color with dark ceilings . . . had to go). A simple black 4 poster bed and opposing black armoire, side chair and sleek side tables and lamps. Also love all the porches off each bedroom !
The master received a new king with sides and a mirror dresser. I chose to forgo drapes in these rooms, just love the clean lines. After a long day on the beach, I would love a nap in this soothing space.
In the separate guest cottage, we simply added a new bed, side table and new dresser (the MIA one Bree ran and snagged !)
It's all very clean and simple, just what a beach get-a-way should be !
With a little upcoming landscaping and color change on the trim (from yellow to blue) this summer escape will be ready to go for Summer 2014 !
Working with Amy and Brent, as usual, was easy and stress free - they just turned it over, stood back and we did our thing !
It was such a fun project.
I think I forgot a picture frame, will have to go back for a weekend to deliver . .
