Install of the Day !

Hi There . . .

I have a client with a 21 year old daughter who's on her way home from studying abroad.  It was time to update her room a bit.  The pink and green we installed years ago was pretty but we were all tired of it.  This space only needed a few minor tweaks !!!  Paint, a little wall paper, new curtains, rug and a pillow or two.  Keith even repainted the art he created way back by simply painting over a few circles in the new colors.  Simple fixes - major change !!

Take a look at the plan . . .

So the plan included painting over all the lime green in the room and changing everything to white and grey.  Happily all the furniture we chose way back was white so it made it easy.

Take a look at the landing area we changed up !

And the details I incorporated in the bedroom . .

Fresh, clean and white . .  perfect for this style conscience 21 year old.

Quick fixes !!

Inspired by Valentino's Spring 2015 Collection . . .

Hi There !

With Easter weekend behind us, Spring has officially sprung for me.  It was a gorgeous day yesterday in Charlotte, sunny and warm.  Ready to brighten things up?  Valentino is.  The Spring 2015 Collection bursts with color, that's for sure !  Stripes, checkerboards, chevrons - all in a kaleidoscope of vibrant color.  What makes it work, and how to you pull that look off?  Just embrace it and layer it.

It's definitely happy and not for the timid.  Take a look at a few images from the official Valentino site.

The look is translating to the interior world, as it always does !

How about a rug?

The Rug Company / Jonathan Adler's Harlequin Multi

Met with a client Friday with three different teen girl designs to choose from and was pumped Ceci chose this wall paper pattern and look.  Told her she was right on trend !

How are we pulling this color explosion off?  Just papering one wall with Harlequin's, appropriately named, Kaleidoscope print.  Available in four color combinations, this particular pattern screams Ceci Drendel with her bright and happy personality.

Just a rainbow of color out there for Spring 2015 !

Happy Monday !

Install of the Day !

Hey There !

Finished an install today, one of four we are trying to pull off before Christmas . . . today was fun, teenage boy in need of an updated space.  This wall paper was my jumping off point.  I loved it and now that all the other patterns and textures have entered the room I love it even more.

McCauley Ethridge needed most everything here, new bed, bedsides, lighting, desk, dresser.  I chose to do wood this time and this is a distressed platform style bed.  We mixed in to side tables with wood and metal and two great wall sconces.  All these rustic woods with the graphic patterns created the juxtaposition I was looking for.

Keith created this fab piece of large art for the space mixing all sorts of medium, caulk, ink, pencil and wax.  Love !

A vintage metal lamp, flea market refinished desk and great side chair.

Loved seeing it come to life !
