Install of the Day !

Hi There

The second part of our install at Ashley Seshul's was her daughter Lauren's room.   This re-do really transformed the space to a teenage room.   We painted over the mural in her space and created a focal wall with new paper, bed, lamps, bedding and a rug.  New curtains panels finished it off.  We were able to save the side tables and armoire on the opposite side of the room.  A very small room, we kept the furniture to a minimum, but added a big punch on the one wall.

Across the hall, another small room we dedicated to a space for Lauren to hang out in that's all hers (and her friends !)

Great space.  We love this wall paper and after using it recently on just a single accent wall, I really wanted to fill a room with it.  What makes a busy paper like this work, solid (well almost) furniture and rug.  Ashley had this large pink shag, so we kept and worked in everything else.

A new small "apartment" sofa, the perfect TV console, a Stray Dog floor lamp (we custom painted to match) and a couple of side tables and pouf.  Our splurge was the occasional chair in this killer fabric.  Had to have.

All the colors and patterns in the "hang out room" coordinate across the hall in the bedroom so well we think.    We papered the accent wall, then pulled the background color of the paper on the remaining 3 walls.  Our only issue when starting this job was the previous "textured" walls.  A slight popcorn finish, just does not work with wall paper.  A good sand job and liner paper (available at places like Home Depot or Lowes) will solve that problem, along with buying lunch and beer for your subs for having to sand, sand, sand.

It was a fun surprise for Lauren - love a big "reveal."
