Room to Bloom . . . Symposium with Mary McDonald

Hi There . .

Yesterday marked the beginning of the Room to Bloom Events here in Charlotte. Each spring the Mint Auxiliary plans, produces and hosts a premiere fundraiser for the Mint Museum and with this year's 60th Anniversary, the didn't disappoint !  Lucy and Company is happy to sponsor this event each year and I look forward to taking a day to enjoy the Symposium and CommenceMint Party !  I headed out yesterday morning, heels on with Susan Brown, new found client and friend to the Charlotte Country Club.  The Symposium, reception and luncheon, is an event catering to 500 women and features a silent auction and book signing.  The fabulous Mary McDonald was there and have to say she was hilarious, insightful, and approachable.

I think Susan was thrilled to meet Mary as was Joy Palermo - last year's CommenceMint Host House !

With a room full of friends, clients, great dresses and shoes - we all enjoyed a few hours of insight from Ms. McDonald in a beautiful surrounding . .

Fun morning . . . after a quick client check in, I headed to Windy O'Connor's for the kickoff party . . stay tuned to see one of my favorite houses in Charlotte !

For the Love of Mary

Hi There . . .

Mary McDonald, on of my top 10 designer favorites.  I have been a fan for years.  Consistently ranked as House Beautiful's "Top 100 Designers" and featured in countless favorites including Veranda, House Beautiful, Town and Country, The Times, Wall St. Journal and International Vogue's.  Delighted she will be speaking this year at Charlotte's own Room to Bloom Symposium April 17th, which we sponsor !

Recently collaborating with F. Schumacher, she has created a collection blending her love of Chinoiserie, bold patterns and colors as well as graphic trims to die for.

A picture says a thousand words . . . be prepared to want . . .

All this gorgeous is available at:

I am loving the navy trim so so much, I have incorporated it in a new dining room for one of my favorite clients - with lacquer navy walls and all . . . stay tuned for this one, hoping it will be amazing.  Take a peek at the design board !!
