Install of the Day !

 Howdy Weekend . . .

As I type, my long time clients, are heading up to their little weekend place on Lake James. I cannot wait for them to see what Kade and I  did on Thursday !  One of those fabulous kind of clients that just let us do our thing which I love, love, love.  During the middle of this past year .. pandemic filled... like many a friend, found a place to escape to in that school was remote and work was remote.. it was a thing for sure.  Lake James is close to Charlotte and within 2 hours you are on the prettiest lake in the remote quite.

This house was like most.  Stained honey color wood, wood, wood, everywhere.  The bones though.. were great.  I jumped in to help style wise.  Nothing crazy just paint, some new furniture in the main living areas,  and major porch attention.  We decided the bedrooms can wait ..

So here's where we started !  The main living area.  Painted the entire thing SW Alabaster White with the bookcases in Ben Moore Iron Mountain - done.  I then ordered the furniture.. yes.. we waited and waited but this past week was the DAY !!!!   Thanks for the patience in letting us install all at once !!!  Much more fun that way.  So new sectional, two fabulous swivel chairs, rug, coffee table and major accessories.  I hit up my new favorite Nav Finds for the goods !  Check them out in Charlotte !!!  Tons of unique pieces for a one-of-a-kind look.

We brought our accent color back in the nook and had to hang the fish... came with the house !

The porch wrapped around the side of the house but they had it enclosed and we styled it all up for a little lounging or work space, desk and all.   All new comfortable pieces for lots of hanging out.

We decided not to go nuts in the kitchen.. again a little paint did the trick.  painted all the wood walls and all the wood cabinets and changed the hardware.. simple.  New plumbing and sink and a new countertop  helped.   With the help of Jacob, created a new "pantry" with floating shelves as there was no pantry !!!

Kept the previous owners table and chairs but added a huge chandelier...

I decided to add these pretty brass picture lights to tie into the new brass faucet.  We took the counter top up the wall and curved it .. still cabin like and simple but much more stylish !

Ahhhh the porch.. amazing view of the lake and so, so cozy and cabin like !!!  Dining for 10 and new lounging with big comfy chairs..   kinda romantic huh !

Lastly.. a little paper in one of the bedrooms.... stay tuned.. on a mission to finish the rest !

Such a fun install and shoot day.. lots of goodies, and great team of movers who even stuck around and help take apart the chandelier to squeeze through the door !!!!  TEAMWORK !

Happy Saturday.. hope they love it !!!!!

Install of the Day !

 Happy Saturday, Part Two !

It was a big shoot week last week .... Kade and Mekenzie also swung by the mid-century modern home of the Luciani's  to shoot their newly finished drinking, lounging and music cave !    Located downstairs off the deck and pool space, this room (also houses a work out room and sauna) is one to hibernate to full time !!  They created an absolute killer wine room and called on us to style up the lounge area to tie it all together.  Such a stylish, relaxing, cohesive and fun space !

Take a look at the finished product.

It all started with four big chairs in one of my favorite fabrics.  Cozy and soft with a subtle neutral pattern.  Modern velvet chevron pillows for an added touch.  Wide arms allow for small drink tables to fit over perfectly.. for that big wine glass.

All atop an 8 x 8 square olive green rug, shagreen and brass coffee table and dripping pendant lights for a moody atmosphere !

A reading room as well, we filtered in a large wood and metal bookcase, styled cleanly with much read books and some cool pieces.   Flanked with sconces that give off a dreamy light.

This wine room surely is a place to lounge for a while !

Install of the Day !

Hey There !

Great shoot last week at long time client Jody Pannel's.  It's been such fun working on this new home with her.  When they made the move I knew the phone would be ringing to help update this 80's place with all it's dated 80's charm.  Great lot, beautiful yard, perfect location, but hum.... dare I say it needed some help, not huge help, quite simple actually.  Paint, floors, and kitchen renovation for sure, and a few new furniture pieces.

We painting a clean Ben Moore Decorator White throughout the entire first floor and changed the floors from red oak to white to take a lighter, softer stain with no red or pink !  Took down and framed out those typical 80's entry hallway columns and straightened out a framed opening.   Added new pieces to those we had purchased for the previous home.   When all was done a cohesive walk through is now making us both happy !

Take a look !

The dining room - clean, simple and casual for this family of 4.  Mixed the grey and white with the warmness of the new ratan chairs and wood sideboard.  Two new art pieces, bringing in the warm neutrals as well.

I love this sideboard !

The dining room is wide open to the entry and once "formal" living room is now a home office and sitting room.

Formal living room for this family wasn't high on the list, so placing the former kitchen table as a desk, a new large oversized chair and new hide rug now turns this space into something they will use.

And who doesn't love a family grouping.. this is the way I like to do it !

I chose to add the once playroom chandelier, now painted white, in the window as oppose to centered.

Keeping the color theme going, this small powder room is a beauty.  We both love it !
Accent tile on the mirror wall, new floating vanity and repurposed mirror and lighting from their former home !

The kitchen needed the most work.  We added an additional window, move the fridge over to the other side of the room, new tile and paint of course.  The once small single island is now a work island and a second island was added for everyday dining.

This island is everything, I love it.  I worked with Jacob Wolfe of 2dash1 to create this old but new piece in wood with the look of drawer but actually doors (and a locked liquor cabinets on the end !) Added a marble quartz top and killer brass legs.  Absolutely love it.

So much brighter and more functional.

New tile, new floaters and a few new accessories to finish it off !

Simple paint job on the steps, removing the old runner . . .

. . .  and a little new tile in the dry bar

The family room was filled with dark wood trim and I mean everywhere.  Gone.  Bright and white.

Simple styling

Relocated brass fixtures flanking the fireplace.

And just a quick new paint job on the frame of this piece.. from a cream to a white !

Always fun to work with Jody, but this day was especially fun.  Having our girls hang together and  actually breaking for lunch.. great day !
