Hey !
What was Maggie up to last week while I was across the street at Longview installing? Installing this one. We planned it that way knowing we might jump back and forth. Two clients with completely different styles yet equally pretty !
Maggie and I worked with our client Maria Hurden on her main living space incorporating her love of purple with new pieces for a more comfortable, pulled together space. I have noticed we are in such great sync these days I laugh every time she chooses something I have already picked in my head before we even talk.
We had Mekenzie on hand to shoot both of our installs last week . . take a look . . .
A new custom sectional in a kid friendly grey mixed with the pop purple pillows. We had a few made and got lucky finding the vintage to mix in.
A new swivel chair in a cream leather made the space. Easy TV watching and conversation with a swivel. A new distressed, round coffee table fits perfectly and contrasts with the mirror cabinet across the room (Maria requested a little glamor and gold as well !)
We papered the entire space with a grey grass cloth for a little added texture.
This mirrored piece reflects all the gorgeous light and such a great contrast with the other textures in the room. I especially love the navy lamp. The right height and color.
Nothing is more important that a well styled bookcase . . . well maybe great art and lighting. When styling bookcases there are a few rules we both try to keep in mind.
* similar colors
* larger scale pieces
* layered books both horizontal and vertical
* stacked objects
* incorporate art
and my personal thing . . . either all black & white or all color photos
We purchased similar frames for Maria to add favorite photos
We used Maria's console behind the sofa yet flanked it with the floor lamps. She already had the one, we just added a second.
Maggie pulled in this vintage inspired rug in the adjoining kitchen to carry the colors visually.
So of course, our chandelier was back ordered, buzz kill - coming next week and will really finish off the space !
Take a closer look at this gorgeous fabric on the sofa . .
Another great piece, this side table at the end of the sofa. Just the right amount of gold detail, the right height and the most interesting part - the top flips to a removable tray ... love that !!
Texture on texture . .
Open and airy, with a beautiful view to the pool.

Lastly, a window fabric we are suggesting for the space. Just simple, non-functional, side panels on either end of the large window. This gradating cream to navy will tie back to all the sofa pillows and colors, and not take away from the pop of purple, will just bring it to life even more.
Great job choosing and installing Maggie. Love the transformation !!
