Spotlight: Lindsay Cowles & Windy O'Connor

Hi There !

So Lindsay Cowles.  Artist, entrepreneur, mom to the cutest kid ever.  I'm not sure when we first spotted her textiles and wall coverings but we have been following her for a while.  Met her on an install in Richmond and have used her amazing wall coverings in several of our projects.  Previously posted "Globally Inspired" we are incorporating one of the most colorful ones so far in a dining room, and in just a few weeks we are installing this beauty in one of our Nashville jobs.

Later in the year, I have the navy version heading up to Philly, stay tuned for that !

But we have used the lighter version in a project here in Charlotte . . .

Maggie transformed this small, small home office adding her paper to the ceiling for a big wow moment when you walked in.

I have also created a space using this pattern on just an accent wall.

This pattern and color really popped in a project I completed a few years ago !

This black and white is on the books for our own Betsy Houck, for her master bedroom !

And this pattern, we were able to tweak slightly color wise for another accent wall in a job we completed about a year ago .

With an all white living space it really added a little drama to the entry.

Windy O'Connor, Charlotte girl.  Friend with for a long time.  Windy's business has exploded with not only creating beautiful art pieces, but now textiles !  In my last post (here) one of her patterns was the inspiration for the entire living room !  Also coming up another later this year, another O'Connor driven color design !

Install of the Day !

Ok, so Maggie has been on a roll as of late !  I am loving all her recent installations.  We are in year four with her joining Lucy & Co and she is definitely growing as a designer, really building her client base and developing her style.  This office project (and subsequent nursery and little boy's room) turned out just perfect.  I love that she chose paper for the ceiling as oppose to the walls.. why you say? Offices in general can be a little visually "busy" with all that pesky work stuff, so calming down your walls in a neutral can maintain the calm.  But we all want a pretty "home" office, so why not the ceiling !  This paper, another beauty by Lindsay Cowles.  Adding some beautiful lighting and storage with DOORS is a must.  Rounding out the perfect choices - the Stark area rug, love that took... Great job Mags.

This space is T I N Y and she worked it perfectly.  Love.

While in the Neighborhood !

Hey There !

It was such a nice surprise and coincidence actually to find out that our new design crush Lindsay Cowles was a mere block away from our install in Richmond.  If you are not familiar with her work in textiles, art and wall covering - you should be !  Meet Lindsay.

Maggie and I took a stroll down the block for a quick visit.  Gorgeous home and office I might say, Lindsay was so gracious in taking the time to show us around with her new baby, Ford on her hip!

I was so taken by her home with it's tall ceilings, old hardwood floors and beautiful pieces about !  Her art I particularly love.  After seeing up close and person I now understand and appreciate her textiles and wall papers that much more.   I wandered around and found inspiration everywhere.  Take a look at my (not so great) i phone pics !

Tile !  Yes, didn't know about yet, love it's application in one of her bathrooms.

Maggie and I heading down to her oh so peaceful office and dived into some really beautiful samples.
