Hot off the Press !

Hi . . .

Perfect timing !  I was thrilled to see Mekenzie's photo of Jill Pleune's family room on this month's cover of SouthPark Magazine.  It just came out as we started our install of her music room.

Take a look . . . (click here for a closer look!)

The feature also included Ben Collins' gorgeous home in my neighborhood - Plaza Midwood !
Ben, owner of The Salins Group, has transformed his home (along with his "dream team, designer Aida Saul, architect Allan Brooks and landscape architect Bruce Clodfelter) into one of the prettiest property in the hood !  The ultimate in "standing the test of time"  this home was renovated 15 years ago.  The finishes and accessories are truly timeless.

Take a closer look at this gorgeous bath !

And also in the feature, by Blake Miller,  Meredith Jackson's home.  Located in the former Lance Cracker factory in South End, this space is far from "vanilla."  Meredith, a Charlotte jewelry designer in Myers Park clearly has an eye for interior jewels as well.

Take a look at these ceilings !

Be sure and check out the entire story and get your copy of SouthPark Magazine.  So happy to be included, and congrats Mekenzie for making the cover !!

A Renovation Worth Waiting For !

Hi There !

What do you get with you combine Ruard Veltman Architecture and the Salin's Group . . . Windy O'Connor's amazing house.  It's a dream from front to back.  Last fall I jumped in to help Windy with her daughter's room and saw the pre-construction phase (take a look here) ... still beautiful, but let me tell you, it's to die for now.  The hosts of lasts night's Room to Bloom CommenceMent Party, I heard a lot of "oohs and ahhs" from the likes of designers, magazine folk, architects, artists and Mary McDonald herself.

I stopped by this past week to help with a few tiny things (but really just wanted to get a really good look at the house!) and my hat goes off to Windy, having done most of the interior design herself.  It was beautiful.  It's that artist's eye she has, a great sense of style and great help from Ruard and Ben.

Take a look from front to back . . .

There's Windy all decked out for the Room to Bloom festivities.

Her art fills the space and adds such a great pop of color !

She paid attention to all the details !

Great Style on Colville Road

Hi All. .

Wanted to share with you a house, and family, I love.  Michael and Joy Palermo.  Our kids go to school together and we have worked on projects together over this years . . . They hosted this years Mint Museum Room to Bloom final party Friday night and I went by early to take a few pictures of their amazing home in party readiness.  It looked amazing!

I give all the credit to Michael and mainly Joy . . she has such style and a great eye . . .

Take a look and get inspired !

The entry, and entire house, is a neutral color scheme with some unexpected surprises in color.  I love the use of graphic textures, prints and patterns.

The formal living space on the front of the house.

I love the detail in the unique occasional chairs, stoops and lighting.

The family room (great room).  Amazing.  Two large sofas facing each other, with two matching
upholstered ottomans.  An upholstered banquet on the back side of the marble island is comfortable and invites conversation in the entire room.  This room leads from french doors to the pool and patio as well as a back hallway to a smaller, cozy den.

I love the clean, eye-catching bookcases with "edited" accessories.

An elegant powder room for guests and a gorgeous glass chandelier I found for them years ago!

Hold on to your heart. . . this pictures has to be one of my favorites of all time.  I just happened to catch Jack in the tub before the party. . .

Take a look at the detail on the upholstered pantry doors !

Simple and clean is the name of the game at the Palermo's, with 4 kids, I don't know how they pull it off (or do they.. it's all an illusion, right Michael with your hidden office doors !!)

Stay tuned . . writing this from another favorite client's NY Apartment - attending
Blog Fest 2012 . . should be quite the event . . starts tomorrow !

Thanks . .
