Install of the Day !

Hi again,

Along with the fabulous bar we shot the other day, Mekenzie shot the dining room we put together a while back but hadn't had time to shoot.  Such a pretty space.  Right by the front door it really does set the tone for this home.  We worked on this design at the same time as the living room and kitchen and when the time was right $ wise we started ordering.

I love to work this way.  I did a plan for this entire first floor a couple of years ago.  We started with the most important space - the family room, breakfast and kitchen and have each year we've moved on to the next install.  The dining room was next and finishing 2017 was the bar (previous post).  Wonder what's up for 2018 !

Ok, so the dining room . . . take a look at the board I created a white back.

I though this space needed the drama of a little grass cloth.  Soft but pattern filled.

New table, chairs and sideboard.  New curtains and rug.

Love some of the details in the furniture.

Now this room has a slight bump and angled doorway making this space not completely square.  It was good in this case as I wanted to add a tall mirrored storage piece.  As a result we shifted the chandelier and table a bit creating a clear walking area.

Gorgeous !

Wanted to show the tie back to the earlier room we started with.  The Family Room was first with a new sectional and large rug.  Added lots of details in this wide open to the kitchen space.

Open to the kitchen, it's all a good flow.

And now we have the bar !!!  Love it.

Install of the Day !

Happy Monday . . .

There is a lot of banging going on downstairs at my abode, with a major renovation underway.  I am held up in my master bedroom getting my thoughts together, packing and orchestrating for our summer vacation!  We are jumping across the pond to celebrate Lucy's 16th birthday !!!  I tried to plan our trip around our renovation and all new floors downstairs .  . stressing me out a bit, but when I get back it should be done done !!!

So I have a few minutes here and I thought I'd post last week's install at Jen and Mark Greer's!  With Mekenzie being back from her honeymoon the two of us hit a few of the installs we worked on so she could shoot them while still fresh and new !!!

I am on this soothing blue and white kick at the moment, or at least that's the request I am getting a lot these days.  Last year I helped the Greer's with their downstairs just after they purchased their Eastover home and now the time has come to tackle the Master Bedroom.  With a clean slate and a newly renovated Master Bath, I was asked to create a calm retreat.

Take a look at their color palette.

Was so happy they were game for the wall sconces !

The starting point of this project . . . Jeffrey Alan Marks recent introduction with Kravet.
I fell in love with these two fabrics and worked the entire room around them !

Take a look at the finished product.  We decided to have a new bed made and relocate it to the window wall, with a large window treatment behind it to "disguise" the off centered window.  This allowed more room for new dressers, side tables and a piece for under the TV.

The slightly odd "nook" space became the perfect spot for her dresser, floor mirror and the "disco" ball.

The addition of the Phillip Jeffries grass cloth added that extra layer of texture I was looking for !

So soothing !

New lighting, new mirrors - all tie together.

The details are what I love.. this swivel pouf.

The dresser hardware.

The mirror.

The art and sea sponge bowl - thank you Cotswald Marketplace!

With the newly renovated master bath, we chose a striking sconce and two new mirrors.  All white and pale grey.

So pretty, enjoy Greer's !!!

Install of the Day !

Hi . . .

The Front Living Room.  It doesn't have to be a boring, formal space you never land in.  The Wagonner's have just that kind of space space that was partially finished but needed some styling up to make it a major focal point as you enter the home.    I was thrilled to have two gorgeous Bernhardt chairs to work with as well as a shimmery Phillip Jeffries grass cloth.  Past client, we worked with to create a bonus room fit for the whole family (here).  Since then, I have been working my way through the home.  Keith created a huge art piece for the family room we installed yesterday as well. Next up, Powder Room tweaking and blood giving to finance the dining room I want to do !!

Where to start, on this "lounge?"  A focal point.  The room needed something on those walls to give that paper even more attention and a rug to ground everything.

Take a look at what we installed and shot yesterday.

I started with the rug.  This large Ikat grounded the space and added a little color and texture.  I chose it for it's blue, grey and emerald green (which for me goes with most everything).  The large, large 62" round mirror became quite the focal point and filled the walls.  Out of the box, it's all black iron. I chose to added the gold leaf  (of course at the last minute as Keith was hanging on the wall).   We love, love that mirror.  A new coffee table, shagreen with gold accents, pillows, more art (created by myself and Mekenzie), a new console behind the sofa and new large lamp.  It's pulled together now !

These chairs, thankfully, had great style and fabric.  Love the hammered iron legs in a warm gold.  Fabric is a soft, textured shaved sheepskin like.  New pillows with even more texture and tie back to the blue in the graphic window treatments.

The wall covering, a Phillip Jeffries gold and slate blue combination, shimmers when the light hits it and takes on various colors.

The shagreen coffee table was a huge find at Slate.  Shagreen is big right now.  What is it?  A type of rawhide consisting of rough untanned skin commonly made of the skins of sharks and rays.  Mine, however a faux.  No animals harmed in this install, or any install.

Take a closer look at Shagreen.

The art was a fun project that Mekenzie and I created last week at the studio.  I knew I wanted a grouping and wanted them to all be similar.  I ordered these pretty gold, with linen mat frames, from West Elm and we got to work on the textured, simple art.  Washing Bristol boards with shades of blues, greens, gold and grey then overlapping hand made papers and washing them a little more.  Lastly, adding some gold leaf.  Simple and as a group, and perfect for this space.  That art major came in handy.

We off centered the art over a new console but to the left of a large lamp.

Happy clients,  happy us.  Fun install as always at the Wagonner household.

Busy month of installs ahead stay tuned !
