Install of the Day . . . Part 2.

Hi !

Now this room really surprised me, in such a good way.  It's one of my favorites.  Sarah handed over all the wedding gift cards and I tried to get really creative to give her a completely new look as oppose to just a small facelift we originally talked about.  She was great in letting me just "do it" and surprise her.  Imagine white walls and her headboard - that was my starting point.  I chose to go dark on the walls to create a cozy, dramatic look.  I knew all along the art and rug would bring light to the walls.  I burned through her wedding and Christmas gift cards !

West Elm wedding gift cards got her the rug and chandelier - score.  Another visa gift card landed those gorgeous Rose Cummings curtains.  Sarah saw them in my office and was obsessed.  I drew all the colors from the curtains and her existing headboard.  Filtering in a Bunglow 5 side table that was being discontinued and on sale and creating most of the art myself... voila.. One good-looking room I think.  Hit Cotswold for a few goodies to pull it all together.

Install of the Day!

Hey There . . .

Road trip, and a quick one.  Nichole Hasan, I believe we only have 2 rooms left in your home, an office and a spare room.  We have tackled, long distance at that,  your living, dining, den, kitchen, powder, master and media and it's been so easy and fun working with you !!!  I thank you for your complete trust.  With Nichole, it's generally a complete surprise.  Check out the other spaces in her home we installed (here).  In the past two trips to Atlanta we installed spaces and welcomed them home to reveal, very "while you were out" style.

Now that I am so familiar with the home as a whole, I pulled together a guest room just in time for out of town company this coming weekend.  Maggie and I drove it down yesterday for a quick set up. Everything was crammed in my car and Keith followed in the truck.  Poof .. done.

Take a look at our eclectic guest room.  We had a completely empty room with beige walls.

I hear it a lot, that a dark color will "make the room look small."  Beg to differ if all the elements in the space are light to bounce off the dark.  I love the contrast, warmth and coziness a darker color can achieve.  This space is small and packed with eclectic things.

We created a tall "waffle" style headboard.  This light color against the olive walls kept the space from looking too heavy and dark.

The bedding and pop pillows mixed in purple, olive a touch of blue (I have used in the downstairs and down the hall) and of course, a little black which every space should have in one way shape or form.

A graphic purple and white curtains to soften the walls as well.

 A pair or really pretty lamps and black studded side tables.

Two of my favorite finds.  A small side chair I had recovered in plum with green piping and a mid-century blond dresser with black accent drawer.

The very small bathroom was painted purple with an olive, floral shower curtain from Thomas Paul.

Love this space, and love the no drama install.  We drove down in the morning, installed in 2 hours and made it home by 8!

Install of the Day !

Hey !!

Happy Friday, and happy the week is coming to an end.  It's been install filled for the past two weeks.  We are ending on a high note with this install that I finished yesterday.  I love this space for so many reasons, but the main one being all the details !  There are so many little things in this room and when  seen all together give it so much personality and thoughtfulness.  My client Olivia and her mom Laura came to me not too far back requesting a complete space including her bathroom.  Olivia showed me a color to get the ball rolling.  Wedgewood blue (with a dose of pink).  Another thing she loved, were things tactile, specifically "stuffed animal" soft.  I took those requests and came up with an overall design that mixed the blue with doses of "shades of red, pink and a splash of purple." The texture came in in the form of a sheepskin, and different furniture finishes, wall paper, art and multiple fabrics.

We installed yesterday, and I give a big shout out to the Webb Company, those boys had some heavy, heavy pieces to hoof up the stairs !

Also could not have pulled this off without Amy Belden and her amazing work on the very detailed, custom window and duvet, Ashely Mullis for the paper that started it all, and of course Keith for two large scale art pieces that also pulled it all together.  Chris Havey did an amazing job in the adjoining bathroom with a new custom cabinet, and killer tile work . . .
